We exist to passionately worship God in all things, to lead people into growing relationships with Jesus, and experience His Spirit in our every day lives.
In order to accomplish that mission, we have a three-step process: we gather for worship on Sunday mornings, we grow in life groups throughout the week, and we give back by serving on ministry teams to serve both inside and outside the church.
BridgePoint Church began with a simple desire: to reach more people with the love of Jesus. In the fall of 2003, the first Sunday morning worship gathering took place in Hobart, Indiana. But BridgePoint didn't come out of nowhere: we were begun by Family Bible Church in Portage, Indiana, which sent about forty percent of its people to help begin this new church! And Family Bible Church had been birthed in 1997 by Liberty Bible Church in Chesterton, Indiana. BridgePoint is grateful for this strong spiritual heritage within the movement called the Evangelical Free Church of America.
When the "pioneers" set out in 2003, the mission was clear: to share the hope of the gospel in Hobart. They moved around a lot, renting one location after another in Hobart until, in 2004, there was no suitable space available! BridgePoint began meeting in an elementary school in Union Township, about 7 miles east of Hobart. After three years there, BridgePoint moved another five miles east, to the heart of downtown Valparaiso, in 2007. The meeting place was the YMCA building, which BridgePoint purchased in 2008. Through the years, that original desire remains unchanged: to reach more people with the love of Jesus. BridgePoint has been through ups and downs, but God has shown Himself faithful all the while!
We celebrate ten years of God's faithfulness humbly, gratefully, and expectantly—believing the best is yet to come!
