Mission Partnerships

The Church is bigger than BridgePoint Church!  Therefore, BridgePoint is committed to partnering with like-minded organizations to help people know Christ and become all that God wants them to be.

BridgePoint Church belongs to the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) and, therefore, supports its National Office.  The EFCA is an association of some 1,300 autonomous churches united by a mutual commitment to cooperate with one another in ministry and fellowship as we seek to fulfill the Great Commission which Christ has entrusted to His Church. The National Office of the EFCA provides visionary servant leadership for the association, promotes interdependence among the churches and preserves the historic values of the EFC movement.

The growing ministry of the EFCA currently extends to some 45 countries of the world.  The term Evangelical refers to our commitment to the proclamation of the Gospel and to the authority of Scriptures as being inerrant in the original writings and the only safe and sufficient guide to faith and practice.  The term Free refers to our form of church government as being congregational.  Evangelical Free Churches depend upon the active participation of lay people in the decisions and directions.

The EFCA is divided into 20 districts to better serve the needs of each local church.  BridgePoint Church belongs to the Great Lakes District of the EFCA (GLD) and, therefore, supports its District Office.  The GLD is an interdependent family of 200 churches.  The District Office of the GLD ensures the EFCA's doctrine and practice, encourages servant relationships among pastors and church leaders, empowers local churches to fulfill their mission and vision and establishes strategic partnerships and new churches so that the Kingdom of God is intentionally expanded throughout its sphere of responsibility (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky border).
