Jeff Cagwin

Pastoral Staff

Lead Pastor

Jeff Cagwin is our lead pastor. Jeff is a graduate of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (M. Div.) and Wheaton College (B.A.), where he met his wife Ingrid. They live in Valparaiso along with their children Hanna, Peter and Elisabeth. They have enjoyed serving together in youth ministry, as missionaries in Spain, and in church leadership. Jeff's desire in ministry is "to help others become all God made them to be." In addition to serving at BridgePoint, Jeff and Ingrid enjoy going to concerts, being out on the water, and spending time with their kids. And, they add, they'd love to meet you on a Sunday soon at BridgePoint!

Kim Wester

Administrative Assistant

Kim has served as our administrative assistant since June 2010. She is a lifelong resident of NW Indiana and currently resides in Union Township. She has been married to her husband and best friend Michael since 1990 and they have two girls, Aimee and Abby. Kim's main objective in her position at BridgePoint is to see that things run smoothly so that Pastor Jeff can spend his time doing what he does best - serving and ministering to the members of the church and our community. As a member of BridgePoint, Kim enjoys serving on the Cafe and decorating teams. Outside of that, Kim spends her time as a mom to a swimmer and a Soap box Derby racer. The girls' activities keep her pretty busy, but she loves to spend time with and take care of her family as well as cooking, baking and reading.

Children's Ministries Team Leader

Kelly grew up in Wheaton, Illinois. After obtaining a BS in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University, she achieved a lifelong ambition and taught kindergarten for 2 years in Energy, IL. She is married to Kyle Fogwell, a current VU law student, with whom she moved to Valparaiso.

Kelly finds herself motivated to serve in ministry to see lives changed and transformed by Christ. She very much enjoys the community of BridgePoint where she also actively serves in both the Worship and Life Group Ministries.

Some of Kelly's favorite things include mexican food, the beach, and Folk Music. She loves to plant flowers and is hoping to extend her skills to vegetables some day. She is also learning how to sew and would love to travel all over Europe in the future.

Katie Barnes

Student Ministries Team Leader

Katie serves in ministry full time with both the BridgePoint youth and Youth for Christ. She is a graduate of Portage High School and has a degree in Christian Educational Ministries with minors in spanish, youth ministries and Bible from Taylor University. Katie sites the Great Commission as her ministry motivation and the best part of her job is seeing students realize their worth in Jesus Christ and learn what it means to be a part of the body of Christ. She also loves to see students get excited about learning about Jesus. Her favorite thing about BridgePoint is the strong sense of community.

Growing up in Portage, Katie dreamed of traveling over the world, which she has realized in part through mission trips. She would love to return to "La Selva" in Ecuador someday with her family - for vacation this time.

Katie leads an active life spending time with her large family and many friends, sewing, reading, painting, crafting and swimming.
